Presidents Messages
It is a great honor for me to be the Chamber President
Rick Fatzer President
Twenty years ago I was the incoming president for the Manteca
Chamber of Commerce. Again, this year, I will be taking on
those same responsibilities. The basic focus of the Chamber has
been,
and will always be, to create a positive business environment in
Manteca.
I would like to thank Tom Hood for carrying the banner as Chamber
president for the past year. As Presidents come and go the day to
day
operations are the responsibilities of the Executive Director. Debby
Moorhead
has done an extraordinary job in that capacity. Not only does she
have to make
sure the daily operations are running smoothly, but each President
brings
with them their own special personality, which she must very
diplomatically
work with to make sure the Chamber stays on course.
Over the past three years a solid foundation has been established
which has enabled the Chamber to create additional programs to
help members prosper in business. We have become financially sound,
membership is growing and we have created additional education
programs
by partnering with other agencies such as San Joaquin Delta College
Small Business Development Center.
The greatest challenge for this year is to have the Chamber members
participate in the programs and activities, as well as build
enthusiasm
for the business environment within the community.
I encourage you to get on the bandwagon, it will be fun.

speeches Past President Tom Hood
This has been an exciting year; the Chamber has
continued to flourish.
It has also been an education for me in the politics of Manteca.
Being the second year we have put on the Christmas Parade,
helped us to be more organized and to have more community
participation.
This was also the second year the Chamber hosted the 4th of July
Celebration.
We were able to more than double attendance from last year and
expect
another 50% or better growth this year as we are
moving the celebration to Big League Dreams.
Through Flags over Manteca, the Chamber’s signature event we were
able to support the community in recognizing Corporal Charles
Palmer’s
sacrifice for our great nation by lining the streets of Manteca with
flags
upon his bodies return and on the day of his funeral.
The revamped Marketing Committee has a new organization and fervor;
we have already started to see more avenues for getting the word out
about the essential roll the Chamber plays in the community.
The Ambassadors Committee is committed once again to being
the workhorse for the Chamber and is the positive face of the
Chamber..
The Chamber has been very active politically, taking a hard look at
issues that are facing the businesses in Manteca, including standing
up
for the rights of people and businesses against the abuse of
imminent
domain to take away the property rights of individuals and
businesses
and to not be forcibly taken over by the government.
The Chamber is excited to be participating in partnership with the
CVB
to bring Destination Development to Manteca. The Chamber has raised
over $10,000 to that end. We look forward to making Manteca a more
traveler friendly destination, not just a place travelers drive by
on their way
to wherever, but to stop and stay awhile and spend their travel
dollars here.
A big thanks to all our members who continue to support the Chamber
through
their membership and their time. Without your participation the
Chamber
would not be the force for positive change that it is today.
A special thanks to our entire President’s Circle membership this
past year: …
AKF Development, Westlake Realty Group, Pulte Homes, Raymus Homes,
Bank of Stockton, MAYACO Marketing & Internet, Anderson Homes,
Doctors Hospital of Manteca, and ARAM Solar/Pacific Rim
Construction.
And a personal thanks also to Debby Moorhead our Executive Director.
Through her prowess at operations has kept the Chamber running
smoothly and in the black. And she has helped me not to put my foot
in my mouth as often as I could have.
I look forward to continuing my participation in the Chamber
as the past president this next year. And I encourage everyone to
become
involved on a committee or to help out at a particular event.
The Chamber is only as strong as the participation of its
membership.

Past President, Manteca Chamber of Commerce
The installation of the new Chamber board is a great time for us to
reflect on accomplishments and learning experiences. It is also a
time to set new goals and for the new year. I am personally excited
and honored to be the next President of the Manteca Chamber of
Commerce and the opportunity this next year affords the Chamber and
the businesses in Manteca to move to the next level.
With our fantastic CEO, Debby Moorhead, we have made great strides
these past couple years to make the Chamber a model for operations
and administration organization and efficiency. Including our all
new website
www.manteca.org.
The focus for the Chamber this year is going to be membership growth
and retention. Chamber membership should be a part of every
business plan. The benefits to the member businesses are a bargain
at twice the price. Networking Coffees and Mixers, member
discounts, the President’s Circle, and the business educational
series just to name a few.
Is it said that a rising tide raises all ships. So join, show up,
get involved and watch our business community rise; and your
business and the community as a whole along with it.

Over the past year the chamber has
been a busy place. We started the year by developing a list of
goals for the chamber and developing a vision statement. The vision
statement that we can up with is as follows: To be the proactive
organization within the community that creates a positive
environment for doing business in Manteca by working with the City
of Manteca, CVB, developers, local property owners, and existing
businesses in the area, and potential new businesses wherever they
may be located in the state or country. Of the fourteen goals that
we set for ourselves all but one has been worked upon and many have
been accomplished.
There have been some highly
successful and very visible events and projects this year. The work
has now begun on widening Interstate 205. With the help of the CVB
we brought the very successful “Best of Manteca” to town. We have
developed the Presidents Circle which is a way for businesses to
advertise and support all of our events.
Thank you to the members, the board
of directors, and the chamber ambassadors for your hard work this
year. I feel confident under Tom Hood’s leadership that great things
are going to continue at the chamber.
And a special thanks to our Executive
Director, Debby Moorhead, she has not only been the driving force
behind bringing financial stability to the chamber but her vision of
where the chamber needs to go has been instrumental in moving the
chamber forward.

Past Presidents Message Dr. David Cox
Dear Chamber Members,
Over the past year the chamber made many positive changes. We began
with a New Executive Director Mrs. Debby Moorhead and changed
administrative assistants half way through the year. The year began
with many new board members and ambassadors, which were active in
creating a membership discount program. A legislative committee that
brought our elected officials to us to exchange information and
ideas just to name a few accomplishments. We began a Junior
Ambassadors program, which will see its growth over the next year.
We brought a new and unique event to Manteca, “ Comedy Night which
was a overwhelming success.” Which will be brought to you again in
August with new entertainers. I have said this is the new Manteca
Chamber of Commerce, I hope you have seen the changes as well.
Thank you to the members, the board of directors, and the chamber
ambassadors for an exciting year. I feel confident that great
changes are going to continue.
And a special thanks to our Executive director Mrs. Debby Moorhead,
for I am sure great things are still to come.
Sincerely,
Dr. David C. Cox D.C.
Past President
