Presidents Message

Jeff Zellner

I would like to thank all of our members, big and small for all your support, without you your Chamber would not exist.  Thank you to all of the board members and ambassadors for your hard work and dedication to the Chamber and your community.  Thank you to Eric McMurtrey for your service as President for the past year, I only hope I make a fraction of the impact that you have made in such a short time.

About 4 years ago I became active in the Chamber thanks to Crystal Downs.  I never knew that it would be life changing.  Because of my involvement I have started my own business and jumped out into the unknown, thank you Crystal for pushing me out.  As many of you know running your own business is tough work, and I for one could not have done it without the support of the Chamber and the support of its members.

This next year I hope to encourage all of our members to get involved and stand up and support your fellow members.  I would like the word to spread as to what the Chamber is all about and what the Chamber can do for you business.  This kind of support from every member would only help the local business community and we can be apart of the growth that is happening around us.  Let’s get excited about this City’s growth and work together to make it better.

It’s going to be an amazing year thanks to the foundation that the past presidents have laid before me, and I am anxious to continue to build for the future growth of this community.

Thank you

Eric McMurtrey

I would like to begin by thanking all of the small and large business owners for your support.  Make no mistake; the Chamber is here to serve you and your interests.  I would also like to thank Debby Moorhead for her dedication and diligent work.  Her efforts are not in vain and have not gone unnoticed.  I would also like to take this time to recognize Kirk Dall.  His leadership and guidance are very much valued.  Manteca is a better place to live, work and play because of his service. Most importantly I would like to acknowledge and thank our President Circle sponsors: AKF Development, SSJID, Raymus Homes and Doctors Hospital of Manteca.  Your support is critical to the success of the community and Chamber.

In my “day” job, I participate in a tremendous amount of planning.  Planning is essential to the health and well-being of any organization; large or small, for-profit or not-for-profit.  One of the fundamental aspects of a successful plan in any organization is the “Mission Statement”. A clear and thoughtful mission statement provides a shared sense of purpose, direction and opportunity.  As a testament to the importance of mission statements, my wife (April) and I crafted a “Family Mission Statement” to help guide our family nearly 15 years ago.

The mission of the Manteca Chamber is “to advance the economic well-being and uniqueness of the Manteca area so that its citizens and all of the business community shall prosper.”  This is evident by the work that our BRET Team has provided to several of the businesses in our community.  This past year we have given out over 900 CDs, which highlight the best Manteca has to offer, to individuals and business that are interested in our community.  This CD has also been viewed 1,600 times on YouTube.com.

Our mission is also evident as we continue to work with local organizations on community projects, such as AKF Development on the Austin Business Park project, Terry Nash on the Center Point project, and the Trails project near McKinley Rd. and Hwy. 120.

We are all acutely aware of the difficult economic environment afflicting our country, our county and our community.  It is going to take a tremendous amount of commitment, team work and planning to be successful.  The Chamber stands ready to help.

Thank you.
